There are many different types and shapes of luggages. This is evident if you go to a store that sells luggages. In the store, there are many types of luggages that would confuse and entice you. How can you overcome this confusion and enticement? This is where this article comes in handy.
Before you choose a luggage to buy, you have to decide if the luggage is right for you. The factors include
1. Trip Duration
If you going to stay for 1 week, you do not need to pack much things compared to if you are going on a trip for 3 month. The length of the trip dictates the size of your luggage. You don't want to carry things that you don't need. Or you don't want to go for a trip without some necessary things because you had a small luggage.
2. Type of luggage
If you are going for a short trip, you might decide to choose either a back pack, duffel bag or a smaller wheeled luggage. For a long trip, it is recommended to use a bigger luggage.
3. Your Budget.
There are different prices of luggages. These luggages serve the same purposes i.e. to carry what you want to take to the trip. The only difference is that it is made by different companies or different designers. Designers luggage are usually are usually stylish.
4. Amount of Luggage pieces
You have to decide how many pieces you need. For a short trip, you can decide if you just want to use a back pack and a duffel bag or to use a bigger luggage. Both choices would still get the job done.
5. Material of Luggage
A luggage can be a soft or hard luggage. A soft luggage is made of fabrics while a hard luggage is made of harden plastics. Both soft and hard luggages have their advantages and disadvantages.
6. Size of your Luggage
If you are going back to your country, and you plan off taking back items as gift to people, it is advisable to use a big luggage. This would enable you to carry as much as you can.

Do you need a New Luggage
This is a question you should ask yourself before you embark on buying a new luggage. This question is imperative because you don't want to spend your hard earned money to buy something that is not really important. You don't also want to deprive your other needs of money. I Know that I am always hard on myself if I spend money on things that are on the lower level of my priority list. I know that you are like me. You don't want to spend money on trivial things.
How can we prevent this? We can prevent this by think if it is really necessary to buy a new luggage set. This are the question and requirements you should ask yourself before you embark on buying any new luggage set.
Do you have an Old luggage?
If your answer to this question is No, that you have no choice but to buy one. You definately need a luggage set if you are planning on traveling. Or I hope you are not planning of using a box as your luggage.
If your answer is yes, you now have to decide if the luggage meets your requirements.
1. The size of the Luggage-
Is the luggage too small or too big to contain what you want to carry. Also,if you plan of putting the luggage in the over head compartment, will the luggage pass the airline requirement. The required length of a hand luggage is 45 inches
2. The weight of the Luggage.
This matters a lot if it is only you traveling or the person you are traveling with is incapable of providing help to you (kids or aged people). You don't want to carry a luggage that would slow you down.
3. Is the Luggage durable.
You have to check if the luggage is good to travel with by checking if it has any tear on the body. You don't want to travel with a luggage that would break into 2 when you are traveling.
Other consideration is checking if the old luggage has wheels and a handle to use to carry it. The wheels would make the luggage easier to be pushed or pulling especially when you are running about in the airport.

To use Box or Luggage
If you want to travel to a location, you need a luggage. It doesn't matter if you are traveling by air, sea or land. The luggage acts as an easier box that you put what you want to take with you to the destination. A box is usable, but it looks odd. To me, a box symbolizes a package that should be carried by a courier service.
I want you to think about this. You plan of visiting and staying in abroad for 3 months. You need to get your personal belongings such as your dental kit, your underwear and your clothes. Since you are staying in abroad for 3 months, you would have to carry reasonable and sufficient belongings. Then in this your visit abroad, you are scheduled to attend a conference with prominent people. You decide to wear suit for the occasion. Do you think you can put your suit in a box? Yes it is possible, but the suit would be crumpled. This would create a hassle for you because you have to find a laundry service to straighten up your suit.
A luggage is better than a box because a luggage is easy to move. This is made possible by the wheels on the luggage. This type of luggage are called wheeled luggage. Boxes doesn't come with a wheel, but it is possible to fix a wheel. I haven't seen a box with wheels used for traveling. The only box with wheels I have seen are the ones used by tech lovers. They are used that as a robot for a project. Also depending on the size of a luggage, but the smaller luggages have straps you can carry on your shoulders. This is much more easier to move around.
Luggages have long life span than boxes. I know some people that have been using their luggage for 10 years now and they have no plan of getting a new luggage. Boxes are meant to be thrown away after use. I don't anyone that has kept a box for 10 years.Boxes are mostly and should only be used for moving from one location to another.
